Recipes and language

Post by Sherps » Fri Aug 12, 2005 8:14 am

Help!
1.Does anyone have a recipe (in English) for kiiseli??? If so, I would really love to have it. My son loves this simple dessert.
2. Does anyone know where I can learn Finnish in Melbourne, Austalia?
I am half Finnish but fast losing the language and would really love to find a teacher here in my home city.
:D

Well, unf... potato flour, sugar, berries, boil.... no recipe needed... its basically as if you were making juice, say from cranberries, but then decide to put potato flour in to make it stiff.

This looks more like "sekameteli"

It is called "fool" in English, but most of those recipes omit the potato flour.

Or just put 4-5 tabled spoons of potato flour into one liter of juice. First heat the juice to 100 degrees. Shift it away from the cooking plate before adding the potato flour mixed with small amount of water. Otherwise you will end up with "liisteri" rather than kiisseli =)
