Unemployment while waiting for decision on permanent residence permit application

Hi,

After working a while, I've found down that my current job is not fit my expectation, and 'd like to resign from it .
And my application for permanent RP is still in queue (~1000 before mine), and my RP already expired this September.
I am wondering how this resignation would affect the RP application if I submitted the additional documents related to this resignation? And in reverse, how the expiration of my RP affects on the process of becoming unemployed? (register as a job seeker in TE system, unemployment security, etc.)
Any suggestion is highly appreciated!

I wouldn’t recommend you to resign from work only because it didn’t fit your expectations. If you resign and register as unemployed job seeker, your reasons of quitting the job because of “not fitting your expectations” might not a valid reason for unemployment benefit specialists.

Why taking a risk with job when you have problems with PR expiration already? It would just create additional and unnecessary problems for you. Keep working at your current workplace and keep looking for a new job while waiting for PR renewal.
