The first exception is "You have the required language skills and strong ties to Finland." Does anyone know what are the "strong ties" requirements, if any? The explanatory text only talks about the language requirement.

This is one of those idiotic ways they keep to ensure a degree of freedom to look at things subjectively ...
Subjectively speaking, they are looking for "strong ties" that according to them give you continuous reasons to be in Finland, e.g.
Subjectively speaking, they are looking for "strong ties" that according to them give you continuous reasons to be in Finland, e.g.
- a permanent job (of course, nobody ever changes their job, or thing don't happen)
- own a house (of course, nobody sells, nobody rents, nobody moves)
- spouse (divorce and separation, what's that? That's the 50% going rate)
- maybe multiplicity of them might give more convincing reasons, what was that word again, "throuple"? Polyamory?
- kids (er, one must reproduce eh?)
- maybe multiple with multiple more convincing?
- etc. etc. etc.

Re: Period of residence for citizenship
I applied when there were still 3 months to complete 4 years period of residence. When the officer was checking my documents she was really interested in my YKI test results, my passport and my work contract. The rest of documents she did not check. Also I added my apartment documents, but I told her that I a mortgage to pay and the original osakekirja of my apartment shares is in the bank, she said that's is OK and she understands it.
So I guess permanent work, home can be considered as strong ties with Finland.

No relationship with Finn, only YKI test results, permanent work and home.jperickson wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 10:09 amWas relationship to a Finn part of your application or only your work and home? Also, they allowed you to apply 3 months before?

I have also applied based on my work contract and YKI test results. Yes, it’s possible to apply for citizenship before completing 4 years of residence since takes 1,5-2 years to get decision.jperickson wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 10:09 amWas relationship to a Finn part of your application or only your work and home?
