Thank you!boy30062021 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 3:26 pmCongrats kalaizanala. I think you fall on the right person at Migri when you sent an email that day . Have you been sending before many emails? In my case, I have called and sent a lot of emails that maybe they might know me now
I was messaging them before. I think it was in July-September, right after my friend got a decision in 7 months. Then I gave up
Thank you, mate!

I would like to share my great news. I have got a positive decision today!
Applied in the end of July 2021, queue was about 7XXX
March 2022 - 45XX
May 2022 - 35XX
October 2022 - 24XX
December 2022 - 21XX
Decision - 1743
On stage 2 for 3 days (Migri asked for travel history update)
A few days more than 18 months of stressful waiting in total
Came to Finland as a student, last 3 years on work based A-type permit. Country is not in the list, not EU. No fines, no debts, no criminal records, no finnish spouse.
I want to thank everyone on this forum for your support and for sharing your experiences! Best wishes with getting positive decisions soon! Good luck to everyone!
P.S. Two days before the review of my application started I have send an email to Migri. I wrote them that I'm waiting for 18 months while processing time calculator telling that the maximum waiting time is 16 months for applicants with valid national passport, permit received in advance and online application. I know that many of you asked Migri about your applications and got answers like "just wait patiently, we have a backlog". But in my case it worked for some reason. May be the right person opened my email or may be Migri is really trying to improve their system. No idea.

Got my positive decision today!
I verified my identity on 8.8.2022, so It took 6 months and two days.
Initial place in the "queue" 7218, and today morning it was 4285.
Over the previous weeks the position was falling more than 150 positions per week, even on Saturdays. So I guess they are speeding things up.
I've been checking my position in the queue everyday to build this graph:
My case was very straightforward: Came as a master's student, permanent job for more than 5 years and never being unemployed in Finland, married with a Finn, very few travels abroad, and with good Finnish skills.
Good luck to everyone else still waiting!
