I was abroad when migri started to process my application. I knew that it is better to inform them before the trip, but I didn't really cared about it. So, they sent me a request, something like:pizzapasta wrote: ↑Mon May 15, 2023 5:56 pmYeah I know one needs to notify migri prior to traveling out of the country so they don’t make a decision while you are away. However, in the unlikely scenario that they do grant you citizenship while you are outside of Finland maybe due to an oversight on their part even after haven notified them of your exit, does anybody know how one could re-enter the country or if it’s possible at all ?
"According to our data you left Finland on day xx.xx.2023. Tell us when you are planning to go back and send the answer within two weeks. If you will not answer in two weeks the decision can be negative".
I came back to Finland in two days after the request and decision was positive.
But I also know a woman who received citizenship while was abroad. As she explained it was ok to come back with permit in this kind of situation. Border guards cannot refuse to let a Finnish citizen into Finland.
So, the worst scenario that can happen is like this:
applicant don't notify migri about trip > mirgi starts processing and send a request > applicant missing a request and don't answer > negative decision
