Oh I didn’t know that. I just assumed that the queue number will show up when my application gets to 2nd stage.

I also just found out that I did receive an email in that same morning saying the ”in process” stage has started and somehow a decision was already made by afternoon.
Congratulations. Can you please share more details
Are u working or married ? Is your country in the list ?
Were you student ?

I live here for about 8 years now. Married to an EU citizen and had my residence permit thru family ties. My country is not on the list but I am non-EU. Got my degree here (which fulfilled the language requirement) and found a permanent contract job immediately after graduation. I did my citizenship application electronically.

Congratulations again....looks like migri is going to my early daycare and kindergarten school in my home country to check my records before they make a decision. Because what kinda of investigation takes 20 months...

This is going to be my last time I will be dealing with Finland

Most certainly my brother.....I guess they will even check the day our parents met to conceive us..my queue number is 1322 still stage 1.

What baffles me is that there is no reason why those who applied 2020 and 2021 must be subjected to this unfair treatment.

For me if you won't grant me just let me know so I can move on with my life instead of being in this dilemma of the unknown.

It’s very understanding. They are trying to integrate 50 thousand Ukrainians into the country during the coronavirus act.We are waiting for this because it is the first time that the Finnish immigration office has dealt with such a large immigration
An institution that works with few workers always has problems. because they are in a mixed system questions they asked me I had nothing to do with the that . Still in stage 2 it went to stage 2 last August. Still waiting.

If there’re dealing with huge numbers how come 2022 applications and even now 2023 ones get resolved before 2020 applications ?

Hello everyone just found out about this forum. Came to finland as an asylum seeker 10 years ago and when I came to finland I already had resident permit. Got my permanent resident permit after 4 years of staying in finland. I studied and went to highs school and then university and in 2021 I applied for citizenship. It's been over 24 months and still in stage one. Sent an email to migri month ago bcz I changed my email address, they told me they will probably look at my application by the end of summer or beginning of fall this year. Good luck to all. Q.N. started with 4500 two years ago and now it is 1299. Working fulltime

Welcome to the community. It looks like we are all the the same soup. Their excuse of dealing with large number of applicants is a non starter. When you have more applicant it means u are getting more revenue.

So why don't they recruit more workers or give overtime to workers and motivate them to work.

People's lives are put in a limbo because of their incompetence

I have lived here 4 years, was on residence permit for specialist worker, divorced from a non EU-citizen, have two non-EU kids. I am myself non-EU. I had a permanent job for 2 years, then I started my own company and failed in that, then I came back to employment-relationship and have now a permanent contract since nov 2021.

Hello, dear community! Please welcome a new member - me! :) My name is Mila, and I come from a non-EU country that is not on the list. I came to Finland four years ago as the spouse of a Finnish citizen, and I have been working as a marketing manager on a permanent contract for 2.5 years. I recently obtained my YKI certificate and have applied for citizenship, although I have not yet received a queue number. I have booked an appointment for personality verification at the end of June, which is the earliest available time at the service point in my city. I hope everyone who is waiting for a decision receives it soon!

well I must encourage you that the queue number is just a fiction. You might get decision sooner than those of us waiting 20 months and over.

Hi MilaR, welcome to the group :D . Thanks for sharing your story. For identity verification appointments, it pays to check the appointment scheduling system daily for possible cancellations. You may get lucky that way and can go sooner. That happened to me (was able to go in August instead of October).
