family ties -residence permit
good morning to all... my son works and lives 1 year in Finland.. he helps me financially and he made me a proposal and I came to Finland and we live together.. for now I am not working... we are citizens of the European Union.. .so we went to the immigration office to apply but things are really confusing ..they told us that the request for family ties for parents is not valid....what can we do?? Does the same happen to anyone and what was the result??.....Thank you all

If Migri takes issue with the classification as dependent, you can try registration as someone with sufficient resources.
"If you have a sponsor who supports you financially, attach a written statement from your sponsor confirming that he or she gives you financial support during your stay in Finland. The money you get from your sponsor must be at your disposal."

Also make sure you are registering right of residence and not applying for a residence permit (as you used the term in the name of the thread). Also they can't verbally deny anything as they are supposed to issue a written decision that can then be submitted to legal review.
