Moving to another EU country as a Finnish citizen

Post by browndude » Sun Mar 02, 2025 3:35 pm

I am a Finnish citizen and I am planning to move my primary residence from Finland to another EU country for more than a year so
it would be consdered muutto ulkomaille vakinaisesti.
Is it as simple as doing the muutoilmoitus online here (Posti and Digivirasto)?

http://muuttoilmoitus.fi/

or do I also have to inform somewhere else (e.g. KELA etc..) as well.
I am not getting any KELA money but I do have the European Health card.

It might be wise to check if your European health card remains valid or if you are required to get a public health insurance in the destination country and get a new European health card there. Ask also from Kela..
If god would give us the source code, we could change the world

Usually the result of the aforementioned notice to Kela is that they deem the other country to be responsible for social security and, as such, also responsible for issuing EHIC.
