Residence permit with familyties

Post by Marjolie » Tue Mar 18, 2025 5:56 pm

Hello

I am Finnish citizen my husband is Pakistan citizen. We got married in 2023 in Pakistan. My husband took care of documentation and everything is legalized and attested by Pakistan Gov. I tried to register our certificate in magistrat but answer was negative. Now Pakistan is a member of Apostille my husband took care of that document aswell. I called magistrat again will they now accept because it has apostille certificate answer was no. My husband is currently working in Dubai I have visited there. Can anyone advice what to do? How I can get our certificate accepted so we can start recidence permit for familyties?

Is the document in one of the accepted languages or does it have an official translation?

"Please note that we can only accept documents in Finnish, Swedish or English. Documents in other languages must be translated first."

Reading the page futher there's information for your case: "If your document has been issued in Somalia, Yemen, Libya, Pakistan or Afghanistan, currently you cannot obtain legalisation accepted by Finland, therefore your case will always be decided on a case-by-case basis. If your document is from any of these countries, you can ask for further information and instructions: international@dvv.fi"

Migri will evaluate the document separately so you can start the process before DVV registration is finished.

Document is translated in english. I had conversation with magistrate worker before she said if they wont accept our documents to register our marriage they can marriage us in magistrate office. Unfortunately they didn't accept our documents to register our marriage here based on that certificate. Now we are making a plan to get married here to get finnish marriage certificate. Then same time he will be updated to my information too there won't be no questioning. We have been together since 2023.
