I'm from UK for reference
From the end of last year I always planned to use my 90/180 days to visit my partner in Finland for 2 months from Oct - Dec (I'm also going for 2.5 months from May - July, it's confusing but I strongly believe it is all within the limits as I'm using a Schengen limit calculator)
But now we are due to marry in September (I will fly over for about 4 days to do so) and I will apply for a A-type continuous residence permit as soon as we have the marriage certificate. I will apply from the UK once I've flown back after the marriage.
I'm getting mixed messages as to whether I can still actually go on holiday for the Oct - Dec time if I have an active application for a first residence permit. I would have a return ticket that shows I would be staying for less than 90 days, so I wouldn't be overstaying my legal limits, but it's just confusing me whether or not the rules about holidaying in Finland change and if I mustn't enter Finland at all until after a decision is made?
Thank you, I hope this made sense
Can I go on holiday to Finland during the period in which I have submitted an application for a family ties RP

When you stay not more than 90 days and there are at least 90 days between stays, then you are always fine.kissakettu208 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 9:57 pmI'm from UK for reference

Between your longer visits in July and October you must have at least 90 (non-consecutive) days without being in any Schengen country.
Schengen days in September count towards your 90 days for both the May-July and the October-December visits.
You are not banned from entering the Schengen area as tourist after applying for a Residence Permit, the application does not remove any rights you previously had.kissakettu208 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 9:57 pmBut now we are due to marry in September (I will fly over for about 4 days to do so) and I will apply for a A-type continuous residence permit as soon as we have the marriage certificate.
