Hi!
I was wondering if there are any football teams for girls in the Vantaa area?
I am not any proff

, but I have played for some years back home. I would be happy just to work out with the team, not nessecerly play matches....Though it would be fun too
And by the way...Are there any football pubs in Helsinki where they show matches on a big screen?
Football for girls...(?) and football pubs?

Girls' and ladies' football is really popular in Finland (the Finnish ladies team is one of the best in Europe). I know of some teams in Espoo but not much about Vantaa. I think VJS is the biggest club in Vantaa
http://www.vjs.fi/
There are girls teams (up to born 1987) and adult ladies teams and all the contact details are on the website. You will find these are very serious teams and you would have to join the federation, get a licence, pay a fee etc in order to play and may need to go through official selection.
But I'm sure some of the contacts on that website could put you in touch with other teams that just play for fun.

You know this by now for sure, but Vantaa is a city of two halves really, the west and the east with acres of empty fields and business properties (not to mention an airport) in the middle and sporadic transport at best between the two. So if you're a resident in the west you tend to stick to available services there, and vice versa.
VJS is located in western Myyrmäki-Martinlaakso area and is indeed one of the biggest and best run youth soccer clubs in the country with a number of girls teams in various age classes from 7 to 18, I think, and a semi-competitive women's side to boot. If you're in the "B" class (U18) they've got two teams to choose from, one (slightly) more recreational than the other.
If you're in the east the closest equivalent is TiPS or Tikkurilan Palloseura, another well run club with a serious involvement in girls' soccer as well. They've got a top flight women's side, in case you get a sudden urge to aim higher.... Smaller (eastern) Vantaa clubs that have girls teams in some age classes include KoiPS of Koivukylä and KOPSE in Korso. There's also Team VanPa which is something of a VJS spinoff.
You can find most teams in Google, or you can ask Finnish FA (Palloliitto) for contact information.

There are two listed on
http://www.soccerbars.com. If you find any more you can use the Feedback link to get them added to the SoccerBars site.
