Masters Swimming Anyone?

Post by Ian » Fri Mar 24, 2006 1:34 pm

Does anyone out there do Masters Swimming? (Thats for older people - above 25 - bracketted into 5 year age groups to keep it fair)

This weekend is the Finnish National Short Course Champs in Kemi :? and I'll be swimming there.

Its my 2nd year this year and theres a really good mix of abilities and levels ranging from former Olympic swimmers to all the way to the barely afloat!!

Just wondering if anyone else swims competitively. Plenty of swimming clubs have a masters group where you can go along and improve your swimming - or just get a bit fitter!!

Been thinking about, never got around to it.

Practice wouldn't even be far (2 km from my house!).

I would like to join a masters club, but I was told that there wasnt any in Kuopio :(

Is there anyone in kuopio interested in forming a team? I used to teach and coach in Ireland before comming here so I could help in that respect

the local swimming club and waterpolo team told me there was no masters team here.

I'll send an email to that address thanks
