tax for motorbike

Post by stefaaane » Thu Oct 05, 2006 11:56 am

Hello,

I will bring my motorbike in Finland soon, does anybody know how much is the road tax per year for a motorbike ( Yamaha FZ1 1000 cc) and how much does it cost to first register it in Finland.

Thank you

Stéphane

Theres no road tax for motorcycles.Don't worry about getting off cheap, the insurances are skyhigh. If you import it as a removal, theres only the registration fees, but if you get it taxed, it goes by engine cc.

Kiitos for the answer, i know insurance are quite high for motorbikes but i think i will still bring it as removal goods, then i don't pay tax.
Do you know where do I have to register it, to get a finnish registration plate?

At a "katsastus" inspection station... theres a procedure, just like if you bring in a car - of what to do at customs etc. someone made a pretty good "what to do" list so car=motorcycle so just search up bringing in a car. Just remember to get the EU CoC conformity from the dealership there. The dealership here will give you one about as gladly as you'd be ripping out their teeth.
