Ben & Jerry's spotted at Valintatalo!

At 5.90 a pop!

I saw Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Cherry Garcia, Phish Food, and Cookie Dough.

Yeah, I saw it at some other similar shop as well. When the stuff first came here to Stockmann it was only 4-5 eurodites a pint.

5,90 is a bit frickin ridiculous.

I didn't buy any. I consider that a major purchase and I don't spend that kind of money on impulse.

But I will be thinking about it.

( And while we are on the subject of ice-cream - though not quite in the Ben and Jerrys's league - Lidl's SORBET in half litre containers does not contain any milk protein. And it is very cheap. And tastes OK. The only other non-dairy sorbets I have found are the Carte d'Or peach and all the Pappagallo range. )

Movenpick is(was) even better than B&J but sadly seems to have disappeared, there was even a stall in Leicester square for a while but that is gone too :( . Lidl chocolate ice cream is great and cheap too :D
It is what it is, make of it what you will.

Lidl ice cream reminds me of Movenpick and both have an artificial taste. I still prefer Ingman vanilla to anything else. I used to have a huge B&J chocolate fudge brownie addiction. It was nice to be able to walk away from it today.

I'll second that. Lidl's ice cream tastes like industrial waste.

So are the Snickers, but I stay away from those. I try not to bring dangerous items into my house in bulk packages.

Yeah, because Nestlé really makes crap ice... as that is what is behind "Gelatelli".
Here in Finland, I have done everything I can to blend-in with the Finns, I've changed my hair color, wore differnet clothes, got different

I think the only Nestle products I've used in the last 6 or 7 years were the baby milk and cereals for my son. I don't think any one company can do everything perfectly.

Except maybe Apple.

We were given some ice cream from Lidl, it was vanilla. It was so gross it tasted just like eating butter. I'm not a fan of heavy creme ice cream.

Lidl used to have quite good cherry ice cream, has that disappeared?

The Espoo ice-cream Pappagallo is really good and can be bought direct from their small factory in Suomenoja in one litre tubs or 4 litre containers. They sell mostly to hotels and restaurants but Stockmann/Citymarket do sell a few flavours; I have never seen it in Prisma. Their sorbets are completely milk free.

Mövenpick is my favourite, it hasn't disappeared, we get it from both Sokos and K chain.

They did change the shape of their tubs about 6 months ago... from long & thin to almost cubic, perhaps that is what has thrown you?

Pappagallo Penelope mentioned is the mutt's nuts, their coconut sorbet was quite excellent from the iceream parlour in Stockmann... (would have visited today but was still full after a Hilton Breakfast... burp) but they never sold that sorbet in tubs in Stockmann Deli
