Stroller limit on buses?

Post by 2boys » Thu Oct 19, 2006 1:13 pm

I thought the stroller limit on a bus is 2. Do they ever make exception...such as a cold day and a non-popular route?

Today we were leaving Ikea in Vaanta. The bus to the Central Railway Station runs, on average, every 30 minutes from the stop. When the bus pulled up and opened his door I saw 2 stollers already on board. So I took a step back, but the bus continued to wait and everyone was staring at me. So we got on. No one said anything to me so I am assuming I was supposed to get on...making it 3 strollers.

Please confirm the limit for future rides. Thanks!

You had a nice driver :-) The norm is two, but maybe because it was cold he let you on. By the way, you think today was a cold day :-) wait and see

I was thinking he was just being nice. Great to know there are still a few 'warm' hearts out there!

He was being extremely nice :)

And if you have a stroller that folds up (umbrella or whatever), it's a good idea to fold it up, if someone else is trying to get on! :D

I've had it both ways - sometimes they are quite happy to have me crawl onto the bus with the stroller sideways. Other times they will yell at me to get off the bus because 3 strollers are too crowded or dangerous. Honestly, it depends on the bus driver.

It also has a lot to do with if more than one bus goes through your area.
I've noticed that the 110 drivers often let us on, but anyone running
along Turuntie will tell you to wait for the next bus.

I've also watched some Finnish mothers drag someone off of the 17
because she tried cutting in front of them in line  .

Today was a day that I wouldn't have minded leaving at least one
on the bus ;)

You weren't there anymore when Tony lost it :D My mom was duly
impressed that a 6.5 year old could still act like that
