Ok! gotta answer this after some wine!!
Hot water bottle can be substituted with the "hot and cold" pack-gels from lidl for as little as 5 Euros. They are microwavable too!!
Pressure cooker : Also from lidl for 30 euros at the cheapest ( gotta check Hongkong if they have a cheaper one). and then next cheapest is Antilla (arounf 40 euros).
Crock pots are not worth the money to buy IMO in Finland.
Ikea had this ceramic crocker that can be used in the traditional electric stove for 60 euros.

As for Voltage convertors for crockpots or other crackpots are also not recommended as their wattages are limited to around 10.
For those crackpots ( like crockpots, amplifiers, etc etc are rated above 150 watts and so require a 110-220v, 1000 Watts or more transformer which weighs like an elephant-packed-inside-a-cat)

Yes, I remember using a UK slow cooker / crock pot in France and the result was raw stew. My dad said it was something to go with Hz???? Maybe Uk was 50 and France was 60 or viceversa. And we had VERY dodgy electrics in that house anyway. But it works fine in Finland and I use it for making elk stew and even overnight rice porridge (nice and warm first thing in the morning without having to get up early).

I'm coming to Finland next week from London and could bring you one of those slow cookers from Argos but I doubt it would fit in my luggage.. :?

Thanks for the offer, but my hubby said it is a waste of money to get one & "what is wrong with just using a big pot in the oven?"
Sigh.............! Can´t wait till next trip to my mum´s house in UK, where almost every meal she cooks is in a slow cooker!!!!!!!
Happy snowy days all..........

I found a place last week called Erätukku that carries crockpots / slow cookers as a sideline to their outerwear and hunting clothing. They have locations in Oulu and Vantaa (by the Bauhaus on Valimotie) and also a website http://www.eratukku.fi , just look for pitokokki. I believe you can also order online. The small pot (3.8L) is 99€ and the large pot (6L) is 129€.

I can't vouch for the quality but it appears to be an honest to goodness crockpot.

Hey, did anyone find a pressure cooker in Finland at a reasonable price? (NOT a slow cooker)

This is different from the slow cooker. It looks like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=pressur ... 18&bih=345

I'm pretty sure I've seen crockpots in stores. Here's a link to Verkkokauppa's selection:

tried that a few times, huge power consumption even on low temp! No more.

I bought mine from gigantti.
