Vetää pisteet himaan

Post by enk » Wed Nov 01, 2006 1:13 pm

Ok, I decided to ask about this, because all English-language versions
of what manly-man Olli Saarela said about Heinäluoma charmingly
leave this out when the translate it. So what the heck does it mean?
Is it like kerätä pisteitä?
Että iso mies kehtaa. Se on onneton, iso, kaljupäinen ja
akkamainen jätkä. Olisin täräyttänyt sitä nokkaan, niin törkeällä tavalla
se veti pisteet himaan. »
(Olli Saarela Image-lehdessä, 8/2006, s. 37)
Always best to learn the language from p*ssed off people 8)

Well, I've heard hoitaa homma himaan and kerätä irtopisteet, so i guess this is a conglomerate of the two.
Cheers, Hank W.

Here "taking points home" refers to the quarrell Tanja and Eero had within government (about use of funds, etc.), what Olli Saarela (with sence of drama) thought as unfair, and that Eero Heinäseiväs walked out posing as the winner. It also refers to Haypole's transferent pre-elections courting of voters.

Is Saarela set to be the next Nykänen of bizarre screwed up phrases?
This could get interesting; let's see who we can get to p*ss him off next!
