I did my after xmas shopping today - hit Jumbo in the morning and then Itakeskus in the afternoon.
It's definitely a good time to hit the sports stores and get the Winter gear for next year. Most children's jackets/snowsuits are half off or more. Even the regular clothing stores have the Winter clothes on deep discount. But the really good quality stuff is at the sports stores and a 50% discount on a 100e snow set is definitely a worthwhile purchase.
In the far corner of the new part of Itakeskus, by the Subway and Dressman, are three new children's clothing stores: Bobo, Jesper Junior (moved from near Stockman), and Adams Kids (moved from Sanomatalo). They all have 20 to 50% off sales on decent clothing. Jesper Junio especially has good prices on the Winter gear - snow suits and sets, mittens, etc. You should be able to stock up for kids of all ages at really great prices.
Zara, H&M, Kappa Ahl will come down in prices within the next week. They are 30 to 50% off right now but will go 50 to 70 most likely by Friday or MOnday. Zara has also started its lower end sales but will go deeper in about a week (I can't wait!). Of course, stock will vary.
So definitely a good time for Winter Gear right now - and then general clothing within the week.

I always buy the next size from his actual height. After the first year, his growth has been pretty steady at 6ish cm per year. He's 116 and his winter gear is 122. I would buy him 128 for next year. I think the winter gear should be a little bigger because it often has to go over multiple layers and still allow them to run and play in it.
