Always Photoshop. I don't recommend any other program. You can get Photoshop Elements for under 100e if you shop around. It's an absolute necessity for digital photography since the conversion of photons to pixels creates a digital haze that destroys sharpness and muddles color.raamv wrote:Wow Excellent Andrea!!
BTW, Do you do enhancements for already shot pics?
I have a christmas shot all in RED!!! and need to tone down the red..
Will Nero do the trick or what SW do you use?
TIA
Gimp comes in handy when you need to to manipulate pictures only every now and then. But it's usability is still way behind photoshop.
Some time ago I saw an ad for a free edition of Photoshop Elements when buying a printer. Can't remember which brand it was, but the printer in question was not one of the most expensive ones. You might consider this option and shop around.

I have tired Gimp and I didn't like it much. Perhaps that Photoshop elements is found as freeware? Have to check tucows...donald wrote:Gimp comes in handy when you need to to manipulate pictures only every now and then. But it's usability is still way behind photoshop.

Long days and pleasant nights
Photoshop Elements is not freeware, but it can be quite cheap or come free with another (more expensive) product. If you're a student, you can benefit from student prices for many different software. Check it out if Adobe has student prices.Karibu wrote: I have tired Gimp and I didn't like it much. Perhaps that Photoshop elements is found as freeware? Have to check tucows...

Elements is under 100e - you just need to shop around. I also got a free copy with my Wacom tablet. And yes, Adobe is really great about student discounts if you can go that route.
But no, there are no really good free editing programs. I know several people use picasa, so you can try that.
I use a Nikon D50. Someone please buy my camera so I can upgrade to the D80! I *really* want to be able to play with off-camera flash for my SB600 speedlight!
