Finnish-English Dictionary In UK

Post by marsilainen » Tue Feb 20, 2007 3:19 pm

Hi all,

Any ideas on where I can get a decent Finnish-English dictionary in the UK?

I've only recently started to learn Finnish and I have this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Finnish-Diction ... F8&s=books
but it's a little limited... I'd prefer something a bit more substantial.

Thanks,
Matt

You can buy a programme called MOT if you want it on your PC
http://www.kielikone.fi/en/

On my mobile phone I have the S60 version from WSOY which is very useful... http://www.lumisoft.net/wsoysanakirjat/index.php seems that page is in Finnish only.

I also have a couple of hardback WSOY dictionaries, which I use less and less nowadays, the ISBNs are 951-0-21690-9 (Finnish -> English) and 951-0-18711-9 (English -> Finnish). Take the ISBN to any decent bookshop e.g. Waterstones/Dillons/ whatever they are called nowadays, and they will be able to order them for you.
