Need Urget Help on Baptism

Post by catalonia » Fri Apr 20, 2007 10:10 am

Hi everybody,

In 10 days we'll have the Baptism of our new born little girl. We'll do the ceremony at home and I was wondering if anybody has some of the needed "Gadgets" we could rent/borrow.

Basically I'm looking for a silver chandelier, a nice crystal ball for the holly water and any good ideas you could have.

I know it's quite late, but don't wanna explain the long history of how we end up in this situation, hehehehehe

Regards,
Catalonia Forever

I'm sorry I don't have any of the things you need, but I think what you are
actually looking for is a silver candelabra (holds candles) and a crystal bowl.

Call your parish, they might have these to lend. At least most lend serving dishes and china + utensils, and at least some have christening gowns, so it wouldn't be too far fetched for them to have a nice bowl + candle holder, too.

Oh, and apparently you also need a white table cloth on the table, and a small white cloth to dry the child's head. But the bowl doesn't have to be crystal, any (nice) bowl will do. (Well, the bowl is probably the only thing that you really need, the others are more symbolic.)

And congratulations on your daughters birth!!! :)

For our daughters, we bought a nice big candle for which you doin't need any candelar, and for the bowl, a normal glass one ik good enough, what you can do and looks really nice and to bring your bowl to your flower shop and ask him/her to prepare a crown to decorate it, in colors that you like. It is really nice :D
Now if you really want a silver candelar, go to Stockman or Anttila, you should find something...
