I used to live in Rugby in Warwickshire, even the women played Rugby down there! Needless to say Rugby has alot of big manly women.

Quite the same for me, but reverted ;) and only for football (I care as much for rugby as, let's say, volley-ball, handball or base-ball).

When the French football team beat England 2-1 in the Euro 2004, with 2 goals from Zidane during the additional time of the 2nd half, I considered that the most important part of the competition was done, and well done ;-) English journalists were making soooo much nasty comments about the age of Zidane before that game...

Yes, the French made too many minor errors and even though they had more presence on the field (IMO) they probably didn't deserve to win. Chabal was gushing tears at the end of the game.... strange to see such a huge monster of a man hiding his face behind his hair and sobbing his heart out.

Can't wait for the next England/France game in the Six Nations.... that's all set to be a helluva match!

Well, I am French and it was a huge disapointment but England deserves congratulations...
In that game, the team playing "their" game would win and it happened as England payed their typical game, hard and physical on defense and beautiful foot plays by Sir Wilkinson...the guy will probably never be allowed to put feet in France after the World Cup (like Materazzi, the italian football player).

Anyway, they gave so much on defense in that game, that now I really hope they make it to the title against South Africa... so at least, if we don't win, we lost against the big Winners who then be the first team to keep their title 4 years after...

Good luck guys, I might want to come see the game with you in the pub on Saturday!

South Africa looked very impressive against Argentina last night. Fast and strong. But I only saw the second half of the second half (Argentina's try which probably shouldn't have been allowed and then a minor breakdown in law and order at the end of the game, two yellow cards and a ref struggling to keep the game going).

I would be very surprised if England pulls this one off: they have a huge psychological disadvantage after being smashed 36-0 in the first round. My money is on the Springboks.

I'd be surprised if they pull it off, but they go in as the underdogs, they have the psychological advantage of having beaten two teams who thrashed them recently, and you know what they say, thrid time lucky. So they might just do it again.

Also, if anyone wants ot know, I looked on eBay at tickets through sheer curiousity, and theyre going from between £500 - £3000. The most I saw bidded at the time was £2,350

I'll just have the money please lol

I agree antstar. If I wanted to say about football, well, i'd go for England's upturn during the latter part of ther group stages in the Euro 2008 qualifiers, the upturn of English teams in the Premiership and Champions League, but then again, most French people dont get the beauty that is a game of rugby.

We also beat the French at this ancient sport...so English sportsmen have completed a double over the French this weekend.

No, no nerve touched  I just agree with UKFLC that it's good to beat an old opponent , I know the feeling  I was giving my point of view from the football side. I really could not care less about the result of the rugby match.

I even prefer that France lost, because there are some much jerks in France that spit on football and take rugby as the sport that football should try to get inspired of, for the spirit, its supposed virtues, manhood and lowly paid players. Pouah.
