Err the missus has shoved me off my desktop and told me to get a laptop. I need to get one by this weekend.

I'd like to spend less than 550 for a reasonable spec. Is there anyone out there who's done their homework that I could copy?

But, theres been a similar discussion on the "other side"... depends actually what you want/need to do.
Problem is, the laptops are coming with a vista... well, xp is tested thorough but its a matter of taste. And then I suppose you'd want the computer to be in English (at one point and time I bioought a computer on the sole basis it had Windows UK and not some imbecile Fin/Swe)...
I'd just see what http://www.verkkokauppa.com has and then start snooping. Once you find something google the reviews. And then google for problems. You might find "issues"...
