wouldn't the answer also be dependent on the kind of rice you want to buy?

The easiest is to go to LIDL to pick up a basmati 1Kg for 1.5Euro or "1"Euro per 0.6666 Kgs..
Or go to Hakaniemi and find out that depending on the rice that you buy ( From ponni to jasmin to basmati to black) the price goes from "1" Euro per 0.6666 Kg to "1" Euro per 0.61 Kg or "1" Euro per 0.59Kg etc..

Prisma rice is about 1.10 euros for 1 or 2 kilos. It's under the brand Xtra and is good, we like it.
Euroshopper rice (found in Citymarket) is about 1.35 euros for 1 or 2 kilos.
That's for plain old white rice, nothing fancy.
