Post by Mangrove » Sun Dec 02, 2007 7:54 pm

I know most of these have been introduced in some thread, but I though it would be nice to collect them into same thread.

- Tuesday

The National Museum of Finland between 5.30 p.m - 8 p.m.

- Friday

Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma between 5 p.m - 8 p.m.

Every day

Helsinki City Museums

Whatever you do, put this website on your phone web browser

http://www.hel2.fi/tourism/EN/tapahtumahaku.asp

..its great, and covers pretty much everything from free concerts to football

..and when ur in town, kicking about on a Sunday afternoon, there's generally a number of options for the hard-up!

As of January 2010 the Helsinki University Museum Arppeanum has free entrance every day.

Helsinki University Museum was established in 2003 by merging the former University Museum specialising in the history of the University of Helsinki, the Museum of Medical History, the Museum of the History of Veterinary Medicine, the Museum of the History of Dentistry and the Collections of Craft Science. To complement the new conglomeration of museums, the Mineral Cabinet, which today belongs to the Finnish Museum of Natural History, returned to its original location in the Arppeanum building. Each year the museum also holds two temporary exhibitions in a specially designed area
