First off, I would like to say hello to all of the Native Finns of the Forum.
I have a lot of respect for Finland as a country.

I would like to get to know some of the Finnish members, Respectively when and if any of you have any free time.

I am 27 years old, Born in Las Vegas Nevada, United States, Grew up in NY, and currently live in Boston Massachusetts, United States.
I am predominantly British as far as my cultural background.

One of my favorite things on Tv to watch growing up was there Winter Olympics, and some of the Olympic Stars that were of my favorites were Finns. Some people I went to college with were lucky enough to study abroad, and went to countries such as England, Germany, France, Italy, Spain. I found those countries to be more in a spot light and so common in American colleges for second language, but I never met anyone with the guts to try and learn Finnish. I find it very interesting that your language is completely unique in itself, and unlike other languages.
In high school, they teach of many countries in history, mainly Germany,Russia, England, Spain, France, Egypt, India, China and also some third world countries as well, but for some reason not many of here in the US know anything about Canada. I couldn't tell you who their president is, anything in their news, its just a quiet place with people who seem almost American except those in Montreal.
Anyhow.. we never learned much of Finland, Sweden, or Norway.
Finland to me as an American is very mysterious, so I am very intrigued to learn. I have never left the continent of North America and It would be a DREAM come true to get to make some friends/pen pals online while I do my own research and map out a vacation (my only vacation in my life) I have never taken one before. If my Post has interested you at all, please feel free to write and I would love to respond to each and any response. Thank you and look forward to hearing from you.
