Try manual channel search. For this to work, you need to know the frequencies on which the local DVB-T multiplexes are being transmitted.

You can find your local transmitter mast (and the frequency information) here. (Zoom in and click on the little transmitter mast icons to see the corresponding frequency lists and coverage areas.)

hei, and kiitos for the answer;

do you know that; is there a some sort of diagnostic mode or what so ever where i can check that does my cables, antenna etc working proper? because my scans are not returning with any channels, this might means, a) device is broken, b) antenna is broken c)cable between device and antenna broken d) etc...

thanks in advance once more...

Those scenarios are possible, of course, but perhaps your location is such that an indoor antenna just doesn’t give a strong enough signal... or maybe your apartment is on the wrong side of the house.

Have you tried connecting it to the RF wall socket in your apartment? Even if you’re in a cable household, at least Welho (allegedly) provides the basic channels in the DVB-T format, too...

I’ve used a Terratec Cinergy 1200-C in the past, but I don’t have any experience on their USB-based products. (If I recall correctly, the 1200-C did not find any channels with the autoscan, either, and I had to manually type the frequencies into an xml-based configuration file. After that, it worked well, though.)

If the stick came with the Terratec Home Cinema (CinergyDVR) tv viewer application, try editing a file called frequencies.xml in the folder where it was installed.

Dont mean to hijack your thread but was wondering if this TerraTec Cinergy Piranha - ultrapieni DVB-T digiviritin USB-väylään is similar to what youve got and is it any good. Also is it like a plug and play usb tvcard. Have you tried recording tv through this at all ?

On a related note, I just bought a USB-based DVB-T receiver as a Christmas present for a relative. It came with a 20 cm stick antenna and an IEC 169-2 adapter for a “real” antenna. We’ve been testing it a bit today, but couldn’t get any channels with the bundled antenna even though the location was only about 1.5 km away from the nearest (auxiliary) transmitter site. Connecting the device to an antenna outlet on the wall did the trick, though, and all channels were found. So I guess it’s just that those tiny bundled stick antennas will only work in ideal conditions, if at all.
