Advice about returning to Study in Finland

Post by Aussie Finn » Fri Dec 28, 2007 3:02 pm

Hello
I'm new here and I'm a Finnish citizen who has lived in Australia for the last 39 years ( since I was 18 months old). I have just felt an urge to return to my homeland to study. I have never been back. I have 3 children and a partner ( not marrried). Would there be any advantage in returning to study as a Finnish citizen or changing to a dual Australian/ Finnish citizenship? This has been a fabulous site and I will need more time to plough through all the posts.
I was wanting to study art therapy or psychology. My Finnish language skills are minimal but would probably pick it up easier than other foreigners.
Thanks in advance

It does not matter if you have a Finnish citizenship or a dual citizenship, in both cases you are a citizen. What matters is yuor knowledge and background. Psychology is an academic subject, and if things are still the same as they used to be, art therapy is polytechic level and part of "toimintaterapeutti" schooling. In both cases you have to apply, and usually take an entrance exam.
