Import tax for car as gift

Post by user2 » Wed Jan 02, 2008 10:50 am

How much would be car import tax, while getting it from outside EU.

My friend is giving away his car (in fact 2 cars)...

Would the import tax be straight some % of value of equivalent car in Finland.

(btw, i already have car here, does it matter to Tax office?)

Yes, like it says at http://www.tulli.fi theres the statistics you can try evaluate the taxes, if someones imported a similar make and model. And as you're not bringing it in as a removal, then it must specifically have an Euro CoC. Otherwise you can't even scrap it before paying the taxes first.

Or you could just buy it off him for 1 euro?
Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
