Interesting that Richard. I seldom ate the things in the UK, but I do remember that none of the cheaper rbands/own label ever matched the Heinz ones.

I would love to try however we are boycotting all rainbow product after twice their seiti fish products reeked badly of ammonia (this is a problem with alaskan pollack that hasn't been kept at the correct temperature during processing and is caused by bacteria multiplying, hui). This isn't the only time their products have failed to satisfy. IMO rainbow = cheap = dirt. I'm starting to sound like ron.., sorry, janiheis

Rainbow branded stuff has never failed us yet... And we use their stuff quite a lot. I suppose though that ammonia-smelling fish might put you off their whole product line.

Yup yup. I'm not a massive fan of baked beans, so the euroshopper variety do the trick for me.

Three cans for the price of one Heinz effort

We buy Rainbow or Euroshopper beans depending which supermarket we are in.

I was more happy to see that Lidl has Heinz tomato soup for €1.29 a tin. There are 10 tins sitting in my kitchen

No, they just had the tomato and it was only the one batch as well. Shame they dont have it as available all the time.
