Best place to get a fan heater for room?

Post by Meri-Tuuli » Thu Mar 20, 2008 8:11 pm

Hey folks

I'm freezing, yes I know, I'm pathetic, its 21C inside and I'm still cold, I guess I'm just one of those chicks...anyway since I don't pay my own electricity bill (I live in student halls) I'm going to buy a small fan heater to give the room a quick blast when I'm cold. I've been using my hair dryer lately but erm, this isn't really that great an option.

Anyway so yes, whats a good place to get a fan heater, something small just to plug in into a normal socket and that doesn't cost that much?

I thought that about that Claus Olsen place (is that even the right spelling?) but I couldn't get anywhere with it and google.

And yes, I do know that erm, it perhaps isn't the most environmentally friendly thing to do, but, hey, I'm sick of being cold all the time. I blame it on my thin long limbs -- good for dissipating heat. And anyway I reckon that it won't take much, because the insulation is really good here, just that they're abit mean with the heater settings. For some reason, its always coldest when the outside temperature is around 1C - when its like -10C its always really toasty.

Oh well.

A cold Meri-Tuuli

Just walk into any Claes Olsson type of store. The small ones cost only about 20 - 30 €. I have one in the bathroom. I just use it when I take a shower because my husband´s idea of a good bathroom temperature is 10° lower than mine.

There are now two Biltema stores around Turku. One is in Kaarina, the other one in Raisio close to Mylly. They should have something what you're looking for, although I souldn't find anything on their website. But http://www.clasohlson.fi tells me they have one for 31,90€.

Thanks EP and Donald!

So it was 'Claes Olsson' and not 'Claus Olsen'!! I knew it my spelling was wrong...

anyway thanks for the info. If you could hmmm, show me the link to the one for 31e that'd be really great (despite being a Finnish passport holder my Finnish language ain't too hot.....)

I might pop in there on Saturday.

Yes, I've noticed that I feel the cold more than anyone else I know - I suppose its just one of those things. Either that or my thyroid has packed up, but I think its just me. :)

Yeah, the regular "car heaters" work fine. I used to do the same thing in my student dorm. Cheap bastards
Cheers, Hank W.

Surely you shouldn´t be using one whilst in the shower, Gigantti has one fo 29.90.
