Where can I find a dental hygienist in Helsinki or Tapiola?
We're looking for one with my husband. Ideally in the centre of Helsinki or Tapiola. Private, seeing the enormous queue in public sector. We usually go to Mehilainen for GP appointments but they don't seem to offer it.

I've used Hammaspeikko (Tooth Fairy) on Hietaniemenkatu, found them to be very thorough and
friendly, and inexpensive - about €120 for full cleaning and whitening.

The public sector is no problem for routine appointments, you can even book on-line, you just have to "plan ahead". For dire emergencies Puolarmetsä has a 24h dentist on call. But sometimes you have to wait.
I recently went to the private dentist in Iso Omena (I lost a filling two days before flying). It was reasonable, friendly and parking is free (unlike Tapiola).

I use this chain http://www.oral.fi/ though not in Hki. They seem to have 6 branches in Hki and one in Tapiola.

What is a "dental hygienist?" anyways? A tooth fairy?
Cheers, Hank W.
