How does welfare work in Finland? I'd love to know anything about it, since I know virtually nothing. Thanks!
*note* I'm not trying to immigrate and live off the government- I'm just curious about an acquaintance of mine I don't believe is up to sharing her experience, as it is personal.

Your question is to broad and general. Basically a Finnish citizen goes to social welfare and Kela fills out the forms, then the government officials determine if the person qualifies or doesn't. Of course there is a 1001 different variants on this. But since this is a general question there is your general answer. You can of course to to Keli.fi to see the diffrent variants.

How does welfare work in Finland?
According to newspaper articles last week: worse than in any other Nordic country. And worse than in most of EU.
