Dogs in the metro

Post by Rosamunda » Thu May 29, 2008 8:29 am

Can't find anything on this forum and can't find anything in the YTV guide.

What are the rules and regulations about taking dogs on the metro?

Thanks.

I tried a Google Suomeksi and found nothing official but but I did find this old post by Elaine Ashton.
She has a St Bernard and she says somewhere in this pdf.."how to get there..by metro!"

I know you have a labrador..need find way down other than escalator. Bit big to carry.
People do not become more irritable as they grow old - they simply stop making the effort to avoid annoying others.

actually... sileä karvainen nouttaja a.k.a. flatti (flat coated retriever), not quite as heavy as a Lab (I think she weighs about 27kg)

There is a lift in Ruoholahti station, she's going out with the kids for the day, picnic on Mustikkamaa (?).

Thx for the link to Elaine's blog.

Lemmikkieläimet
Lemmikkieläimiä voi kuljettaa maksutta kaikissa liikennevälineissä. Metrossa lemmikkieläintä saa kuljettaa joka toisessa vaunussa. Pienet lemmikit on paras kuljettaa sylissä, isot matkustavat jalkatilassa. Asemilla on turvallisinta kuljettaa lemmikkiä hissillä.

Pets

There is no extra charge for transporting pets on buses, trams and trains and on alternate metro cars. Small pets should be kept in the lap and large pets on the floor. For safety reasons, use the lift at metro stations.

-Some metro cars (every other) don't allow pets - there will be a "no dogs" sign to the left and/or right of the door. Simply trot into the next car along, which should have no such signing.
