Here is a handy link: http://evl.fi/EVLen.nsf/Documents/9F6EF ... nt&lang=EN
Quote: "If a Church Wedding is not possible, the couple can have a civil wedding. After a civil wedding, the couple has the opportunity be blessed in a church."
So it is possible to arrange "wedding" at church just for the show... wimmenz... you know, you can have your dresses and cakes and partys and be a princess for a day without church wedding

Re: Help! Where can I have my wedding?
have your boyfriend inquire at his local church, or the one that would be if he actually attended service
. I always thought you had to be a member to do it at the church but have lately heard conflicting stories. If the member restriction only applies to finnish lutheran church you could try a different denomination. Or, civil registrar person will come to any site you wish, if you arrange it with them.

Re: Help! Where can I have my wedding?
I married my wife in a Finnish church. The only thing I needed was to prove that I had been christened!
Easier said than done in England... I had to pay some parish vicar to cycle to the near derilict church, open it up and blow the dust off the old register books. He found my entry there and then wrote out a fancy piece of paper for me to say that I had been christened. The Finnish church office looked at it for about 20 milli-seconds before giving me the stamp I needed to go ahead with the wedding..
