Helsinki-Porvoo (Travel Card).
Is there a travel card also valid for the bus connection Helsini-Porvoo, so that one wouldn't have to pay the app. €20 per 2way trip always and might even save a bit of money (when having to use the bus connection a lot and on a regular basis)???

Well on a cusory look the Matkahuolto doesn't have one of their city-city card options to Porvoo, but theres a card so what you should do is go to the bus station and ask... one trick I used to do was to hop on and off at itäkeskus as the coaches charged per km, but I don't know what the difference is these days.

Woah, instant answer. Thank you!
Mhm alright, gotta go there ask about it then. But I fear, being without a car, living in Porvoo doesn't seem to be a very cheap thing for a "Helsinki person" then. Damn, damn.

I used to live in Porvoo - do they still drive up for cruising with tractors?

Driving into HEL from Porvoo WITH a car isn't very cheap either. Petrol is over 1,50€ per litre and Porvoo is a long way out. Then you'd have to park somewhere, not cheap.crunchy wrote:Woah, instant answer. Thank you!![]()

Well, I don't own a driver's license anyways. So even if I had a car.. but yeah, you're right with that! Traveling in general's gotten quite expensive.
I was just wondering, as there are those "monthly tickets" for the Helsinki area and alike, if there might be something of that kind going as far as to Porvoo even.. .

Isn't there some kind of hitch-hike on-line commuter service in Helsinki??? I'm sure plenty of driving commuters would be interested in sharing petrol costs with a passenger or two? I've heard those sites exist in Paris (and probably many other cities too). Hank?
Re: Helsinki-Porvoo (Travel Card).
Ah that's a great idea, Penelope!
We have a lot of those websites here in Germany as well, I bet there are plenty also in Finland. Would be great to know more about it!!

Do A google search with 'kimppakyyti'. That should give you a couple of possible websites.
