Moving from Tampere to Joensuu

Hi, This is my first post.

I am from England, moved to Tampere in April to live with my Finnish girlfriend who has now been accepted into Joensuu University so now we are moving again. I was just wandering if anyone can give me any imformation about Joensuu. Things like:

- Bars and restuarants in Joensuu (wheres a good place to watch football)
- Accomodation (flats, etc.)
- Jobs (I am looking for any job)
- Language courses (I have recently finnished a beginners course in Tampere, I have been self learning Finnish since I arrived in April and am looking to continue learning.
- Any other information that moght be useful (I have googled it, but it just gives you a Wikipedia version of Joensuu, I want to know what its like to live there).

Any help would be appreciated.

I like Joensuu actually. Can't say I live there but have spent the past 3 summers there, and now I'm about 30 minutes away in the boonies. But I think you'll find a little of everything there. They have a good music festival every summer (Ilosaari), a few good pubs (can't remember where they are, only that I have set foot in them), plus, since they are a university town, you'll find a greater mix of ethnicities. It's big enough but medium (about 55-60K people). The one thing I don't like is the distance to Helsinki (4 hours by train). Otherwise, I like it.
