Getting a small parcel from Texas to Tampere

I may have to get a small parcel from Arlington Texas over to me in Tampere in the next couple of weeks. Does anyone know a good and obviously cheap courier that would do this? The parcel is very small, and would weight about 0.5kgs.

From the USPS web site I found a rate of $10.30 for a First Class Mail International Package weighing 1 pound.

wow - thats way cheaper than sending anything from here. USPS though you need to go pick the parcel then up from the customs if it gets snagged. couriers cost then triple than the post office - nevermind which courier you use, fedex or UPS, they all will do the customs handling for a fee, UPS sends a bill afterwards if theres been custom charges.

I've been sending a good few parcels with USPS from Missoula, MT, US to Espoo Finland for little money and I haven't heard any problems with customs.
Just make sure that you (or the one who sends the parcel) checks the box "Gift" on the green customs card. And if it has any value, make sure that you don't write more than 50$ for the value (unless it's so valuable that you want to insure it).
