Networking

Post by jen03 » Fri Nov 28, 2008 5:32 pm

Hi

Im moving to Finland and will be looking for a new job. I want to use networks to do so, Is there any other networks apart from LinkedIn that people use so others can make contact with them in relation to career opportunities? Whether its agencies or companies?

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

Jen

I heard that Xing is a bit more European focused, I registered there but haven't had time to use it yet.
I do use LinkedIn and I did get some work contacts through it here in Finland (even job offers).
However it would depend on your background, mostly it is used by IT bods I guess.

Unions are a good place too...but they let you in once you have a job..
Personal networking is one of the best ways no matter where you are..
Also, it depends on your profession...Some are easier to network Internationally, other not..
You can always send resumes to all the companies that hire with your skill sets..
