The catamarans did the trip in 90 minutes I think but IIRC the Seacats went belly up in the Autumn (when the price of petrol went sky high).

But the catamarans didn't run in winter anyway, they are not classified as icebreakers.
Otherwise for Tallinn there is Viking Line, Eckerö Line and Tallink Silja running boats. I think the fastest is M/S Viking XPRS which takes 2,5 hours.

...and about the same price as Viking Line.... sounds like a good deal, and they seem to be sailing all year round. No wonder the Seacats went bust.
