Epsom salt aka magnesium sulfate, Magnesiumsulfaatti in Finnish.
"Magnesiumsulfaattia (karvassuola) käytetään laksatiivina (ulostuslääkkeenä)"

You get laxatives from apteekki.

I suppose they can be used as a laxative, but most people use it as bath salts - in which case you could try The Body Shop
"SPA WISDOM PLUNGE & PURIFY KYLPYJAUHE
Ripottele jauhetta lämpimään, juoksevaan kylpyveteen, astu kylpyyn ja anna kehon puhdistautua. Sisältää puhdistavaa Epsomin suolaa ja savea Amazonilta sekä yhteisökaupan kautta tuotettua, ihoa pehmentävää luomubabassuöljyä.
34920 500 g 25,20 (50,40/l)"
http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/_en/_gb/ca ... ode=34920m £11.70 in the UK = €13.22 ... almost twice as expensive to take a bath in Finland it seems.

yeah i wanted to use it as a bath salt but couldn't find it in the supermarket. But i think bodyshop only sells fragranced bathsalts. I think if i get it from the chemist the amount would be too small? Does it sell here in any other kind of shop?

you can get it from the chemists in bigger quantities too - they use it in veterinary medicine as well so ask for a dose for a horse ;)

If I were ordering it for the lab we'd probably get it from http://fi.vwr.com/ but I have no idea if they sell to private individuals.

I'm sure the Chemist will be able to get it for you in larger quantities, but you will probably pay through the nose as they are a bunch of rip off artists.

It seems to me that I was able to buy a fair sized (500 gr.) box of Epsom Salt from the drug store (apteekki). I don't remember that it costs too much.
