Normally a carpenter has not been enjoying the student life at the university but.... a good one earns more than a professor

Keep on searching gibsos if you do not find any work it is worse than I thought it would be.

We might be in the market for that say in like 4 or 5 months... but, what are your rates? How much experience do you have? And do you have references? Do you prefer to get paid cash (under the table) or are you a registered business? I am not going to preach here like others might saying you gotta have a registered toiminimi blah blah blah. I am curious because I might just be interested in the cash payment

But first I am weighing my options of both ways.

I am looking for an English speaking contractor who can help me with some light renovation work on a retail shop I am opening in to weeks. It is would be just a few days of: laying down click in laminant floor tile, glue wall trim in place, cover one wall area with gypsum board, cut three shelves down in size. I am curious what the average cost is for hiring a carpenter in Helsinki. I am trying to plan what it would cost to have custom shelves built into a room.

I am 40kms from helsinki and here the standard price is e45 per hour (vat included). In helsinki i am told from e60 upwards. You could ask pieni hyllykauppa, not cheap but excellent work. https://www.pienihyllykauppa.fi/
Or alternatively buy a standard book case or similar which fits, and then ask a carpenter to fill the gaps etc ("ikea hacks").

Thanks! The link doesn't seem to work (though I found them on Facebook; the style isn't what I would be going for), but at least €60/hr gives me a basis for planning.

An Ikea-hack is exactly the sort of thing I don't want to do. I know what I want, and it isn't sold anywhere, so far I am aware.
