Kuksa

Post by maw » Sat Apr 18, 2009 10:17 am

Hello everyone,

Can any one recommend a good suppler of traditional kuksa's. I've tried the link (Outdoor Arctic Clothing) suggested in a previous thread regarding the same question however there's no mention of kuksa on the site.

Any suggestions?

Regards

Mark

By "traditional" do you mean you want the traditional style? Or made in the traditional way? You will find most (all) of the one in tourists shops are mass-produced, mostly in low cost countries (etc China).

This one says it's made FROM Lappish birch, but doesn't say where though. 32 euro:

And this one for 4.20 €:

So it depends, do you want "traditional style" or "traditionally made"

Thanks for the response, traditionally made would be good.

Partioaitta ( http://www.partioaitta.fi ) and Varuste.net ( http://www.varuste.net ) offer a wide range of outdoor equipment, including kuksa's. At least the ones in Partioaitta seem to be made in the traditional way (there's no brand mentioned in Varuste.net), the material is the same in both.
