Hey,
I managed to get accepted into three masters programs: ERI major sociology in Helsinki, IASM major sociology in Turku, and Int. dev coop major Political Science in Jyvaskyla. I have to make a choice between the three. I am trying to based my decision on quality of education and the student experience...not necessarilly the most well known place. Does anyone have any recommendations based on their own experiences at these universities in this field of study (social science). How are the lectures, workloads, research and thesis opportunities? How is the faculty, is it a easy going collegial atmosphere? Are the proffesors any good? I mention this because in doing my B.a. I took up another major and the interaction in this new department is phenomenal, profs, grad, post graduate students all know eachother get along and work together in a nice way. This whole experience really improved the quality of education and oportunities for students even if it wasn't the "most reknown" university. If I am going to spend two years studying somewhere I would like it to be in a atmosphere where people are interested in the field who care about what they study, and are not attenting to get advanced credentials. I have lived in Finland before so I know people may not be the most "open" so try to base your answers on what is a good student experience within Finland.
University of Hesinki, Turku or Jyvaskyla?
