NatWest Island Games - Åland 2009
June 27th - July 4th

I've never heard of this before but spotted it yesterday. I 'acquired' the first show from Channel Islands TV, it seems to be a very poor man's commonwealth games with an eclectic mix of islands competing.
Anyone seen it, heard of it, from one of the islands etc etc.

I have some family on the Isle of Man so i'm supporting them.

Nice table hopefully they have an event called "crappest flag"....Gold for Prince Edward Island or Froya (wherever the hell that is).

Are you kidding? IoW, IoM, Jersey, Guernsey, Shetlands etc...

Or do you mean GB?

I was a bit sceptical but it's been an entertaining week. More participants than the Winter Olympics.

Football final tomorrow evening. Åland v Jersey. Watched the Åland semi today. 2-1 v Isle of Man, aet. Good match.

There's a good buzz around the island right now, & it's not often you get to see so many toned athletes basking in the sun over here!
