Where to go for a date in Helsinki?

Post by czlowiekwidmo » Tue Jul 14, 2009 11:08 am

Hi,
Any places you can recomend to take a girl out? Maybe you know some "not-so-popular-everyone-goes-to" place? Unfortunately its a first date so I don't know her "preferences".

Thanks in advance.

interleukin more like coffee/hang out place. Maybe some park? Doesn't have to be food related place.

Thanks for suggestions.

Cafe Engel is good, the terrace is especially nice, and as its smack on Senate Square its easy then to get to places.

Cafe Ursula if the weather is nice. At the shoreline of Kaivopuisto park. Or Seurasaari outdoor museum, a nice place to walk and a restaurant in the main building and a rustic coffee place in an old barn.

Have you got a place you specially like or where something exceptional happened to you (not with another date/gf, though)? Take her there.
Prepare a backup if is somewhere uncommon.

Pursuivant Cafe Engel sounds nice, somehow fancy ... but nice ;)

EP this I like, both places sounds preety cool, I might go to Cafe Ursula and if I'll be lucky and given chance with the second date I'll try Seurasaari.

Mark I. to fancy , its a good place to make a proposal, full (fool ;)) moon and a windy island ... not quite there yet ;P

ajdias the problem with me is that I haven't been long enought in Helsinki to get to know places and I rather "hang out" with people in places like Henry's Pub, Amsterdam or Molly's, which I don't think are a date-like places. Its my first chance to take a girl out here in Helsinki and I'm rather "lost", especially when I go to http://www.eat.fi and see all the dots :P.

I think I go with Cafe Ursula as location + view is really nice and far enough from busy/crowded centrum.

Maybe some girl here on the forum and a girlish point of view - would be helpful ;)

Thanks all for help!

Here is your "girlish" advice: Why not ask about her opinion first?

Are you interested in her or just the self-challenge?!

If it's still too easy, ask her in Finnish.

Meeting every new person in your life is a challenge to guess why karma brought you two together on the same "path". I'm interested in getting to know her as we only exchanged phone numbers.

Don't get me wrong, I just want to pick a place, or rather suggest it. I prefere to ask "is this place OK with you?" rather then "where do you feel like going?" and I'll ask her when I pick one. Also its me taking her out not other way around (this time at least). As I don't know Helsinki much I was asking about where are some nice places to hang out, also asking about "girlish" point of view was seeking girls opinions where do girls like to be taken out (and the reason for that).
