Where to print business cards?

Post by mardy » Sun Dec 13, 2009 9:21 pm

Hi all,
the subjects says it all: where do you use to print your business cards? Better if it's a local shop (in Helsinki), but even an online shop would be fine.
I need only the printing: I would prepare the graphics myself.

TIA,
Alberto

I need to find someone who can reproduce my business card so I guess they need to be a graphics person as well as a printer? I have the logo graphic but the printer I used to use did all the layout etc. Is there anyone in Helsinki that will do that? I also only want a small print run if possible - I have had to throw out hundreds over the years each time I move which is so annoying!

Hi,

My neighbour works in a printing company in east Helsinki, here's their website: http://www.rakennuspaino.fi
Give them a call, I'm sure someone there can help you in English.

Do you want digital print or offset?

Do you have PMS colors in your designs that you want to be printed as 100% solid? Then you'd need offset. Digital printers can't produce a screen free PMS.

DMP has good service (www.dmp.fi), both digital and offset.

If you need a graphic artist, drop me a line. I am one. I can prepare you stuff and supply you with a print-ready pdf, which you can then send to the printer.

You could try vistaprint. Does somebody know where I can print embossed business cards. I've read about embossed business cards (embossed business cards, but I haven't found a company yet that prints embossed business cards.

Thanks in advance!

Vistaprint is certainly a VERY dubious choice - they fill the net with ads saying your cards are 'free' - and then have a look at the final charge etc. Also try to find a PHONE NUMBER!! I'll NEVER buy from someone that you can't eventually TALK TO if you have to.

If you still have a card left - get it color copied at Kopioniino or Multiprint - their programs will fill an A4 via their programming - and buy 10-20-30 color copies of the A4's with your cards - on heavy paper - then just guillotine them yourselves.

I've made good experiences with printsafari. Got to buy business cards there and they've satisfied me. Good alternative to Vistatrash, if you ask me. However, you might check out your local copy shop first. They usually offer a very wide range of service!

Send me a pm if you want a professional design and have it printed professional.
Vistaprint and the likes are dirt cheap, but you get what you pay for. In the end it's your corporate identity which suffers.

IDSKETCH will be a best option for Online Printing. It would be just like ordering to a local shop because the friendly customer services for idsketch.com would put you at ease and would give you a comfortable ambiance as you would get by ordering from a local store around the block that you’ve always known.

Hi, giving this thread a bump as I found it looking for similar information myself.

Slightly different question - does anyone know anywhere I can get a small amount of business cards done *fast*?

I remember when I was younger in the UK there were vending machines where you could get business cards printed there and then - no idea if such things still exist and if there are any in Helsinki.

Going to an event on Tuesday and having not been in a situation where I've had to give out business cards in a while I realise my phone number is out of date!
