Is there any place in the capital city area,where one can purchase a mistletoe? Thanks.

There is not much market for the product, but you could try well stocked florist. For a price... High price.
Why not market? Because that tradition is alien to Finnish culture.

These days we are aware of some practices involved, but if you manage to find mistletoe that there would be lots of ladies who grasp the meaning of you dangling some weird twig over their heads and trying to go kissy kissy.

You might get rapid demonstration of speed and strength of Finnish female bitchslapping annoying male though.

  • Suomessa ei Kasvin mukaan ole tiedossa yhtään muuta onnistunutta mistelin kasvupaikkaa. Muutama vuosi sitten misteli tosin kasvoi Turussa toimittaja Aagot Jungin siirtolapuutarhassa, mutta sittemmin kuoli.

I have seen some in florists shops in Helsinki. Probably the one on Fredrikinkatu (up towards Iso Robertinkatu, on the even side of the road) since I walk past almost every day (Tram 3 stops outside). And Stockmann in the city centre might have some.
