Dunno where to put this really...but since it is a kind of announcement...

PMs are not working!



Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 535 authorization failed (#5.7.0)

Paul I just tested I could not PM you but I could PM Kemars (our tech expert)..he says that it looks like your PM boxes are full you need to empty the In/sent boxes or at least make some space..

PMs are still being delivered. What's happening is the e-mail notification that should be sent to your e-mail account can't be delivered because of an issue on the board. Should be up and running soon.

Wombat you just sent me a test PM but I cant open it..
I can see it in my in box but it will not open..
I can open other PMs??

Hi,

Just got Kemar's PM and sent him a reply.
Perhaps was some transient problem with the mailer.
Believe me, my PM box is practically empty (sniff...) :(

The problem exists if the user has 'Notify on new private message' selected in their profile. It's an issue with the SMTP server the board is using. The guys are working on it.

Thanks for the update. I *was* able to send a PM to Kemars but then tried to reply to Peter's PM and got the same error again. So it is not consistant - the worst type of error!

That's because Peter would have the 'Notify on new private message' option selected in his profile and Kemars would not. PMs are still being delivered to everyone but an e-mail can't be sent to those users who have requested a notification that a PM has arrived.

Yes, indeed we have a hiccup in our system, that we are following up as we speak. All PM's are being sent,

but if you have in your profile:
Notify on new Private Message:
turned on, you will get a debug message if you are sending a PM to a person with those options turned on. The PM will still go through, just the notification for the end person will not go through.

Just anything that is trying to be sent through our mail server is going to be clogged until our hosting service fixes the problem.

an update will come forward soon.

I just got an error trying to reply to a post.

Tried 3 times, error 3 times.

Then my post appeared 3 times, had to delte the lats two...

We've had to disable the use of SMTP until this is resolved. Hopefully it should be working soon.
