UK or Finland

Post by villager » Tue Mar 30, 2010 1:22 pm

Hello all,
hope you all are doing ok, I have posted a similar topic sometime ago. I haven't made a decision yet, though.
If you have an option to study Master degree either in Finland (Vaasa City) or the UK (Oxford City), which one would you go for and why?
I am really in two minds

Was there something you didn't like about the answers you already got? 8)

Are you trying to say that an UK education is better than a Finnish education?

The OP asked about not only education, but things like possibility of a part time job and a job after graduating. if those things are important at all, it almost does not matter how great the FInnish education is, OP should go for UK. Read a few posts in this forum and you will understand why.

I think that if you did not get the message during the last thread, then you must have decided to come to Finland in your heart. Oxford is beautiful, you will have a better chance of getting a part time job in Oxford, the weather is warmer in the UK, in the main the Brits are a bit more welcoming to foreigners, you will have less language problems as you seem to speak English already, it is a bit cheaper to live, it is a bit cheaper to drink, night life is better...

Welcome... and good luck!

Thank you guys, now as conclusion, the education is better in Finland, but the chance to get part-time jobs is lower.
I would appreciate any other comments
Thanks

Well, it is debatable which country offers the better education... so IMO that part of your simple conclusion is questionable, but the second part is correct.

If I have understood right, the Finnish education starts great (and have Pisa results to prove), but after that..?

nope, you need to improve your reading skills. I did not call you an idiot, I said that the replies in your previous thread basically called you an idiot for even considering Finland. But if you feel like an idiot, that is fine by me :)

Maybe you should go do some more basic studies first before going on to advanced studies (in the UK or Finland).

It is easy to post such replies, Not even worth replying.

You posted a thread on this forum. You did not like the replies you got. You start another thread. You expect different answers for some reason. What part of "you will not get a part time job during your studies in Finland and you will not know Finnish when you are done so you will not get a job so why not go for the UK option for your own good" part do you not understand? Maybe if you start a third thread you will get different answers to the same question, it is worth a try.
